Dr Amarjit Singh Tanda contesting from Greenway

as a Member of Parliament in Federal Elections

was born in Jalandhar District in Punjab, India, got his MSc and PhD from Punjab Agricultural University Ludhiana. 

He worked in the PAU, Ludhiana as an Entomologist till he migrated to Australia in1994. He remained active in

the Punjab Student’s Union in his student life, then elected with big majority of votes for the Executive committee of Punjab Agricultural University Teachers Association.

In Australia, he was elected as the President of Akali Dal and worked from overseas through friends and relatives in India. He worked for one of the leading party in Australia since 1994.

Dr Amarjit Singh Tanda is contesting from Greenway as a Member of Parliament in Federal Elections as an Independent candidate. The Greenway Division includes main suburbs Acacia Gardens,

 Blacktown, Dean park, Glenwood, Kings langley,

 Kings Park, Lalor park, Marayong, Marsden Park, prospect, Parklea, Quakers Hill, Riverstone, Schofields, and Seven Hills.

His main policies will concentrate around Punjabi, Hindi, Fijian, Pakistani communities and their problems.

 

This will include more grants/funds for the present Community Mission Centres, Indian schools, Indian versions in govt./office papers, improved tax, hospitalisation, no waiting list in hospitals, 

People’s security in the present situation of war, more police, extension of West Point, better tranport & roads, better facilities for Taxi Drivers, affordable child care centres, more jobs, increse in immigration, 

immediate processing of newly wedded couples, improved housing facilities, another court, better facilities for students, improved,aged care centres, better pension, dental facilities, 

and many more for the migrant communities and Australians.

His main motive is to unite the Indian communities for say in the Parliament in the future if you support him as Number 1 on the ballot paper and ask your friends and neighbours for vote no 1 or at least no.2.

 

Rergarding his life story he also presented many of his poems from Jalandhar DoorDarshan and All India Radio, Jalandhar. He was also interviewed from SBS Radio, Werrington Radio Station, FM 200, Hindi Darpan, NSW, Australia.

>Contribution in Punjabi Literature:

>He participated in the World Congress of Poets held at Rozelle, held in
>October 2000 and Sydney on 10^th Oct 2001, publishing a literary Magazine in Punjabi namely Kaleere, recited poems on SBS Radio and Local Radios and Gurdwaras.
>-89 Punjabi Poems & Articles in Punjabi Leading Magazines(Arsee, Preet Lari Samdarshi, Aks, , Akha) and Newspapers such as Punjabi Tribune, The Ajit, The Tribune, Punjab Times, Indo times, Komiat and Hindi samachar in Australia.

-Won 11 First /Second Prizes in Punjabi Poetry.

-Won Best Poem Award of 1992-93 from the Punjabi Bhasa Department, .

-Produced 3 Punjabi Feature films by Tanda Brothers Productions (Veeri, Dhee Jat Di, Pahla Pahla Piar and 1 Hindi Feature Film(Samuglar).

-Was awarded University Merit Fellowships.

-Worked as Teacher In-charge Young Writer’s Association, PAU Ludhiana.

-President, Punjabi Sahit Academy Sydney and Punjabi Welfare & Cultural Association Australia

>Contribution in the Scientific Field (Entomology:Pest control):

>My original research in the field of Entomology has already been recognized
>by including my name in the 5000 Eminent Personalities of the World by the American Biographical Institute, Raleigh, USA. Also honored by the Biological Institute of UK.

in Australia. In India he is well known in Punjabi Literature and community.

Organising Religious Programs:

He has painted beautiful portaits of Gurus, Sassi Punnu.and paintings of Punjabi Culture and Reetee Rivaz.
