Seattle, USA ( June 23, 2001 ) A literary get together of the members of the above three entities took place at Amrik S. Kang's new residence in Puyallup, WA, USA on June 16, 2001. This get together was hosted by Amrik S. Kang and his wife Manjeet Kaur Kang of Punjabi Manch. This ended up being a remarkable literary meeting due to the induction of musical instruments by Seattle's newly formed music band. For the second year in a row, Punjabi Sahit Sabha ( Punjabi Literary Society ) of Seattle unanimously elected Savraj Kaur of Vancouver, WA and Avtar Singh Adampuri of Kent, WA as its President and General Secretary respectively. Avtar Singh Adampuri happens to be one of the three founding members of this society that was formed with Amrik S. Kang's initiative ten years ago. The other two founding members namely Amrik S.Kang and Harbhajan Singh Bains were also present in this meeting. A resolution was adopted jointly by the above named three entities to hold a literary public conference in the Seattle area in which some Punjabi Authors from outside the state of Washington will also be invited. The date and time will be announced after further consultations. Over two dozen people took part in this gathering. Dr. Jasbir Kaur made a special effort at the last minute by cutting short her other assignment to join this gathering. Harbhajan Singh Bains came all the way from Okanogan in Eastern Washington while Jaswant and Jyoti Shergill came from Vancouver in Southern Washington. As usual, Sahota brothers namely Amritpal and Kanwaljit and their families played a much needed role by helping in fetching and serving the meals at Amrik's request who was busy in other organizational activities. This literary gathering was a total success.
