Press Release

For Immediate Release:

Seattle's Snake Oil Salesman Dr. Jerry Mixon of Longevity Medical Clinic got busted by Judge Peter L. Nault of King County District Court in Redmond, Washington.

March 16, 2001 ( Seattle, USA )

Yesterday the 15th of March, 2001, Judge Peter L. Nault of King County District Court in Redmond ( the hometown of Microsoft ) dealt a severe blow to Greater Seattle's newest snake oil salesman Dr. Jerry Mixon who operates his Longevity Medical Clinic from an expensive lakefront in the city of Kirkland.

Dr. Mixon got his first promotion by Peter Weissbach of KVI radio in Seattle.  Mr. Weissbach personally endorsed Dr. Mixon's medications and promoted his free seminars to give him jump start.  Dr. Mixon claims that his medical program inducts youthful energy into people, makes them work harder, makes them feel less tired and eliminates all of their aches and pains that come naturally with age.  In a nutshell, Dr. Mixon claims that his medical treatment reverses the effects of aging in people. Peter Weissbach made repeated claims to have benefited from Dr. Mixon's medical program and urges people to attend free seminars conducted by Dr. Mixon on a regular basis.

I personally attended one of Dr. Mixon's free seminars conducted in part ( at least the introductory section ) by Mr. Weissbach himself and I decided to give this program a try. Dr. Mixon comes across as a nice, courteous snake charmer in his conversations and successfully hides all of his inner arrogance. Dr. Mixon's medications made me feel worse from the very beginning by giving me repeated stomach upsets.  I called his office asking for help. Dr. Mixon ignored me and did not even bother to return my call.  On December 12, 2000, I wrote him a two page letter warning him about my intentions about taking him to court if he did not refund my unused fee of $800.00.  Well ! that letter of mine fell on deaf ears as Dr. Mixon might have thought that I was bluffing.  On December 29, last year I filed a small claims case in the King County District Court in Redmond and the court date was set for March 15, 2001. Once again, in order to hide his guilty face Dr. Mixon neither showed up himself nor did he send one of his corporate officers to the court.  What does that tell you?

Please remember that Judge Peter L. Nault does not automatically enter a default judgment if the defendants do not show up.  He still discusses the merits of the case with the plaintiffs. If he does not find any merits, he does not automatically rule against the defendants for not showing up.  That is what happened to one young lady before me because the Judge did not find merit in her claim to make a decision in her favor.  However, the judge found more than enough merit in my case and decided in my favor. Dr. Mixon's clinic was ordered to pay me $848.50 including $21.00 as my court filing fee and $27.50 as  my cost for getting the summons delivered to Dr. Mixon's Clinic through King county Sheriff's office.

As per court order, Dr. Mixon is supposed to pay me $848.50 within twenty days if he wants to be out of the woods.  Will he do that? Well that remains to be seen.

Please remember that Dr. Jerry Mixon has started his own radio talk show on the KVI Radio in Seattle and has started pushing for the same lotions and potions for which he has been using Peter Weissbach' s gift of gab until recently.

Yours Truly,
